Basin Recreation has done an excellent job providing the trails and facilities we all enjoy. I use them regularly and I find them to be well used but not overwhelmed. A majority of the residents, including myself, have voted for past bond measures to provide new facilities. The current prop osal for another bond of $150 million (reduced to $71 million) before the existing bonds are paid off is totally unrealistic. If Basin Recreation feels that the two parcels of land they have been given must be developed now, they should look for other sources of funds. We local residents are not interested in paying higher taxes. A proposed school district bond for $56 million was soundly defeated in 2015. We can do it again.
