BATON ROUGE mdash; This weekend's LSU-Ole Miss matchup is one of the most anticipated college football games in recent memory, marking head coach Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford after leaving for Baton Rouge last year.nbsp;But, winding back the clock, the Magnolia Bowl has always been a significant marker for both teams' legacies.nbsp;In 1959, Ole Miss had LSU on the ropes in Death Valley until Billy Cannon's legendary 89-yard punt return to beat the Rebels 7-3 on Halloween.nbsp;More than a decade later, Bert Jones passed his way into LSU lore when he beat the Rebels 17-16 with a last-second win in Baton Rouge.nbsp;In the new millennium, LSU was trailing Ole Miss on the road by seven points during the 2013 edition of the rivalry. This was until Odell Beckham Jr. fielded a punt on his way to the end zone, returning it for a touchdown and evoking memories of Cannon's iconic run more than 50 years before.nbsp;Now, No. 7 LSU heads to Oxford to face No. 8 Ole Miss.
