One person died and two others were injured after a fishing boat crashed into rocks and capsized near the Golden Gate Bridge on Thursday morning, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Officers assigned to the SFPD Marine Unit responded around 6:10 a.m. to reports of a 25-foot vessel i n distress beneath the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge, within Marin County’s jurisdiction. With assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard Station Golden Gate, SFPD’s Real Time Investigation Center, Southern Marin Fire, the San Francisco Fire Department’s Marine Unit and the Sausalito Fire Department’s Fire Boat Liberty, crews located all three people and provided medical aid, police said. All three were taken to a hospital in Marin County with life-threatening injuries.
