A former federal prison employee was sentenced to more than three years in prison for sexually abusing two inmates, the United States attorney's office announced.Danny L. Spyker worked as a corrections officer and cook supervisor at the Federal Correctional Institute in Thomson, Ill. when he had sex with two inmates in March 2024, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.Spyker was convicted earlier this year by a jury in U.S. District Court in Rockford of two counts of "knowingly engaged in sexual acts" with inmates. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Sunil R. Harjani sentenced Spyker to three years and five months in federal prison, officials said. "[Spyker's] criminal conduct was not the result of a one-time mistake or a momentary lapse of judgment,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan S.
