MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 57-year-old Middlesex County man is dead after his truck ran off the road, flipped and hit a tree Monday morning. At about 8:42 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, state troopers with Virginia State Police were called to Burchs Mill Road for report of a single-vehicle crash. Investigators learned that 57-year-old William Norman Ellis, Jr. of the Hartifeld area was moving west in a 2023 International truck when he ran off the right side of the road. He then hit a road sign and a utility pole, flipped and crashed into a tree. Ellis died as a result of his injuries.
