A woman was punched in the face by an assailant trying to steal her phone in the Target parking lot in Cheltenham Township on Monday morning, police said. The incident occurred at around 9:35 a.m. outside the Target at 2450 Shoppers Lane, police said. An unidentified woman was in the parking lot when a suspect approached her and demanded her cell phone, police said. When she refused, the man punched her in the face and threatened to shoot her in the face, police said. The suspect ultimately left empty-handed and was taken into custody a short time later during a traffic stop, police said. The suspect was charged with robbery, simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment, police said. However, the suspect’s identity has not been released at this time.
