NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman has been arrested after stabbing a man on Hemlock Road in New Kent County early Saturday morning. Forty-eight-year-old Melissa Palmer of Quinton was charged with malicious wounding and assault and battery of a family member in connection with stabbing a man on Saturday, Sept. 12 on Hemlock Road, according to the New Kent County Sheriff's Office. The man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, where he was treated and released. Officials are unsure of Palmer and the victim's relationship status, but "they live together and have for several years," officials reported. Palmer is being held without bond at Pamunkey Regional Jail, according to the sheriff's office. Her arraignment is set for this week.
