BART service was suspended in some parts of the East Bay on Saturday due to a PGE power outage, according to authorities. Officials initially said the service was suspended due to a fire near the Coliseum station in Oakland. Later, authorities said BART halted service between its Lake Merritt and Hayward stations due to an “equipment problem on the track.” BART then clarified the service was stopped due to a PGE power outage near the Coliseum station and said the outage occurred at 4:42 p.m. Just before 9:30 p.m., authorities said the BART service was restored.
