Some gas stations in California are now charging nearly $10 for a gallon of diesel. Those prices have hit a Bay Area food bank especially hard, as it relies on trucks to deliver food to the community. The U.S. Bureau of Labor put out its latest inflation report on Friday, showing that fuel prices have jumped 28% in the last year, taking airline fares and energy prices up with it. In the Bay Area, fuel prices have hit food banks like Second Harvest of Silicon Valley especially hard, since they rely on trucks powered by diesel to deliver food to the food banks and out to the community.
