ST. GEORGE mdash; The St. George Fire Department honored the lives that were lost on 9/11 on Friday, including one of their own, Lt. Michael Scott Lamana.Before serving the nation at the Pentagon, Lamana served as a volunteer firefighter at the St. George Fire Department's Fire Station 64, which no w bears his name, as well as a reserve deputy in East Baton Rouge Parish.By 2001, Lamana was a Navy Lieutenant and a Naval Flight Officer assigned to the Navy command center at the Pentagon, where he monitored operations of the Navy's global fleet and briefed the chief of naval operations.On the morning of 9/11, Scott was working inside the Pentagon when American Airlines Flight 77 struck the building.nbsp;"Those who knew him remember a man who was talented at what he did, approached things from a unique perspective and brought a good sense of humor with him along the way," fire officials said on Friday.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
