Authorities sought public help Thursday to find a suspect wanted for a felony battery that left a man unconscious with multiple facial fractures. The two men were engaged in a verbal dispute over transportation fees in a shopping center parking lot at 2493 Roll Drive around 6 a.m. on Aug. 22, acc ording to investigators from the San Diego Police Department. The dispute escalated, and one of the men repeatedly punched and kicked the other in the face, knocking him unconscious. The victim suffered a left orbital fracture, a nasal fracture and multiple facial lacerations. He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment while the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, the department stated. The suspect was described as a possibly Hispanic man around 30 years old, about 5-feet-9 inches tall and roughly 200 pounds. He has short, slicked- back black hair and a beard, with tattoos on his left forearm. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black shorts and black shoes, which the victim believed to be steel-toed boots. His vehicle appeared to be a dark gray Chrysler 4-door sedan. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
