INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) - A Columbus man will spend more than two decades behind bars after pleading guilty to exploiting a child in his care.According to an indictment, Andrew Case, 39, of Columbus, Indiana, forced a child under th
e age of 12 to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of making a video in Dec. 2024. The U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Indiana says Case also shared other child sex abuse material to other people over a peer-to-peer network.The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Bloomington Police Department received alerts related to the videos Case shared. Investigators began a search warrant at Case's home, where they found the child living in poor conditions. Police say the child was sleeping on the floor and showed signs of untreated lice.A forensic search of Case's cell phone revealed more than 600 images and videos of young children, toddlers, and infants engaging in sexually violent and exploitive activities.Case pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child, as well as distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material. A judge sentenced Case to 27 years in and three months federal prison, along with a lifetime of supervised release. Upon his release, Case must also register as a sex offender.
