INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) -- Indianapolis Colts fans can save on single-game tickets this week as the team waives all fees for home games through Wednesday.The promotion, which runs Sept. 8 and 9 while supplies last, eliminates the st andard 15% to 20% surcharges typically added to the base ticket price. The team says the move aims to put money back into fans' pockets.I think it should increase the attendance because a lot of people don't want to pay that extra fee, so they'll sit at home and watch it on TV. If they don't have to pay that fee, they'll end up coming to the game, which should increase attendance quite a bit, Colts fan George Brokering said.Lifelong fan Brandon Brown, who buys tickets through Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and the teams website, said the savings are welcome.Especially with the economy, it'll be good financially, Brown said.However, some fans remain skeptical about the long-term impact on affordability. Joshua Logsdon, a former season ticket holder, noted that base prices remain a hurdle despite the fee waiver.The cheapest tickets are 94 bucks for up in the nosebleeds, like the 600 level. But I get it. It's a new stadium. They've got to make their ticket price somewhere, Logsdon said. If the Colts end up doing bad at the end of the year, they'll go lower; if they do better, it gets higher. It all depends on how they do.Logsdon, who is currently looking for single-game deals, said the gesture matters more than the actual savings.I mean, I think it matters that they're showing the community that they're trying, maybe not so much in the long run. They're probably not going to save that much money, but at least they're trying to show they're doing something, he said.Fans can also purchase tickets in person to avoid online convenience fees.
