Three people were injured after a car crashed into the North Park Produce Store at 12342 Poway Road in Poway at 4 p.m. on Saturday, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. A BMW crashed through the store’s front window near the cash registers are, according to Poway Fire. At least on e of the injured people was a store employee. The others were also outside of the vehicle. SDSO said the driver was not injured. The injured individuals were taken by ambulance to hospitals with life-threatening injuries, authorities said Monday. The store was evacuated, and an engineer has been called to assess the structure. The BMW driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, sheriff’s officials said. The vehicle was towed for further investigation, with alcohol and/or drugs not believed to be factors in the crash, authorities said.
