A child was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries after being hit and run over by a car in Rockwall County, according to fire officials. The crash happened along the 1000 block of Smith Acres in the city of Fate, about 30 minutes northeast of Dallas. Upon arrival, Rockwall deputies were advi sed that an eight-year-old male juvenile had been struck and subsequently run over by his grandfather in the driveway of the residence. The boy recieved significant injuries to the midsection of his body, according to the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office. A request had been made for a Care-Flite helicopter as a result of the boy’s injuries.
