A police pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle in Rogers Park ended with an injured pedestrian and two officers on Friday evening. Chicago police officers reportedly noticed a red Toyota matching the description of a stolen vehicle at 7:14 p.m. in Rogers Park, officials said. The officers tried to i nitiate a traffic stop in the 2000 block of W. Birchwood Ave., but the driver of the sedan, an unidentified 25-year-old man, did not stop and eventually struck the police vehicle during the chase, police said.Shortly after, the sedan hit a light-colored Volkswagen SUV in the 7400 block of North Sheridan Road.The Volkswagen SUV then struck a 24-year-old man who had been walking on a nearby sidewalk, police said. He was taken to the hospital in fair condition and treated for injuries.Following the crash, the driver and a passenger of the suspected stolen sedan were taken into custody. The driver sustained "unknown injuries," police said, and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition. During the chase, two CPD officers were injured.
