NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A tractor-trailer driver is dead early Friday morning after their car hauler overturned and caught fire on Interstate 64 in New Kent County. At around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, Virginia State Police troopers were called to I-64 West near the Route 33 exit in New K ent County for a single-vehicle crash. State police said a preliminary investigation indicates a commercial car hauler heading westbound hit the concrete barrier in the median. The impact sent the cab over the barrier, where it overturned and caught fire. The tractor, which was carrying several vehicles, stayed upright. Their identity is pending notification of next of kin. "The crash and resulting fire have created an extensive cleanup operation that is expected to continue for several hours," state police said.
