Over $360K in illegal drugs seized across Virginia in one week: VSP

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Over $360,000 worth of illegal drugs were recovered last week by Virginia State Police (VSP) as part of their crime suppression operations.
According to a Sept. 4 report, Virginia State Police (VSP) recovered over 51 pounds of illegal drugs throughout Virginia from Aug. 26 t
o Sept. 1.
This included 2.3 pounds of cocaine, 49.2 pounds of marijuana and 3 ounces of methamphetamine.
Combined, these drugs could have been sold for an estimated $367,720, VSP said.
Police said they also recovered eight firearms, valued at $4,000, and $198,304 in U.S. currency as part of their criminal drug investigations.
“The Virginia State Police remain steadfast in their mission to enhance public safety and uphold the laws throughout the Commonwealth while supporting the Governor’s initiatives on violent crime,” VSP said in Friday’s release. “By working in close collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, law enforcement continues to disrupt criminal enterprises and safeguard communities.”
