A woman, who was with her two-year-old daughter, was injured on Thursday night after a bullet went through the front door of her West Philly home, police say.
According to Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers responded to a reported shooting along the 4900 block of
Aspen Street in West Philly at about 9 p.m. on Thursday to find a 24-year-old woman who had been shot in the leg.
The woman, he said, was taken to a nearby hospital were she was listed in stable condition.
In an interview with investigators, the victim said she believed her boyfriend had fired a shot through the front door of the home.
The victim’s two-year-old daughter, Small said, was unhurt in this incident.
At the scene, investigators discovered a bullet hole in the front door of the home along with blood in the living room.
As of about 6 a.m., police had not announced an arrest in this case. But, Small said, officers were working to locate suspect believed to be responsible for the shooting.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing, said Small.
