A police officer and a suspect were taken to the hospital after being shot during an altercation at the Pittsburg police station Thursday, according to the police department. Police said officers arrested a 31-year-old man and took him to the police station for booking. While booking, authorities said a physical altercation occurred between the suspect and an officer, during which a firearm was discharged, striking the officer and the suspect. The officer was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, officials said. The suspect was also taken to the hospital in stable condition, police added.
