(BCN) -- A driver who allegedly struck and killed her friend in the parking lot of their Milpitas apartment complex last week has been charged with murder, and a GoFundMe was created for the family of the victim. Just after noon Friday, officers responded to 440 Dixon Landing Road after getting a re port of a hit-and-run collision in the parking lot of the Mill Creek Apartments. Anjana Hari, 35, was found lying on the ground with significant head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the police report provided to prosecutors, Hari was allegedly intentionally struck by a Toyota Highlander SUV being driven by Anila Baby, 32, who also lived in the complex. DA offers help for missing Monterey County teen allegedly impregnated by fugitive father Witnesses at the scene told police that Baby's vehicle pulled into the lot and stopped while Hari acknowledged her and smiled. A witness in a vehicle behind Baby's SUV said they believed Hari was either greeting a friend or an Uber driver, but there seemed to be a comfortable understanding of some sort between her and the driver. When Hari walked in front of the SUV, witnesses allege Baby suddenly accelerated and ran her over, also hitting three parked cars, before taking off out of the apartment complex. Baby was located soon after less than a mile away in a Walgreens parking lot; the reporting officer said she appeared incoherent and was unable to respond to questions. She had visible injuries and there was major damage to the front end of her SUV, police allege. A witness told police they saw the SUV being driven recklessly before it entered the Walgreens lot. Investigators said the lack of tire marks at the scene bolstered their belief that the collision was intentional and they recommended Baby be charged for the death of Hari. On Tuesday, murder charges were filed against Baby, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. She has yet to be formally arraigned. The motive or circumstances surrounding the case are still not known or released, but family members and friends told police the two women were "good friends." Friends of Hari's husband Vijesh Vijayan started a GoFundMe to support him and his family and to help cover funeral costs. "In the midst of shock, grief, and overwhelming pain, Vijesh is now facing the difficult days ahead without the person he loved by his side," reads the GoFundMe post.
