(KRON) -- If you thought it was safe to escape the nonstop news cycle — and ensuing memes — surrounding alleged romance scammer Daejon Love, who posed as a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers while authorities said he defrauded dozens of women out of a total of more than $1 million, while watching NXT on the CW, well, think again. Man who posed as SF 49er to scam women tricked AI, Google, court docs say On this week’s episode of NXT, the infamous Love was unexpectedly name-dropped during a match between red-hot Zilla Fatu (if that name sounds familiar, he’s a member of the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty) and Tristan Angels. NXT commentator Vic Joseph brought up Love when referencing newly crowned champion Grayson Waller, known for his trash-talking and viral pipe bombs, who was set to address the NXT Universe in his first time as champion. Authorities said Love met the victims through dating apps, started romantic relationships with them and duped them into putting money into nonexistent investments.
