Two people were killed in a Tampa plane crash on Thursday morning near U.S. Highway 301, officials said.Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to the crash near the 7600 block of North U.S. 301 in Tampa. At approximate ly 8:16 a.m., HCFR's Emergency Dispatch Communications Center began receiving multiple 911 calls about the crash.Upon arrival, firefighters found a small aircraft heavily involved in fire. Crews quickly attacked the fire and brought the blaze under control.Two individuals were confirmed deceased. There were no reported injuries to first responders.The scene is currently being secured by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office pending the arrival of representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), who will conduct the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. ...read more read less
