FORT WAYNE, Ind. Two people were injured Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash on US 30 eastbound near Flaugh Road in Fort Wayne, according to Indiana State Police.Troopers responded to the crash shortly after 8:30 a.m. Sep t. 3. The collision prompted authorities to close US 30 east of Flaugh Road for nearly two hours while emergency crews worked the scene and investigators examined the crash.According to the preliminary investigation, a white Dodge Sprinter van was traveling eastbound on US 30 when it approached a line of stopped traffic near the intersection with Flaugh Road.The driver of the van, 73-year-old Cheryl Montana of Larwill, failed to stop and struck the rear of the stopped vehicles, police said.The crash involved a black Ram pickup driven by 30-year-old Jailan Hedgecock of Fort Wayne and a white Chevrolet driven by 25-year-old Christian Nichols of Springville, Alabama.Montana and Hedgecock were injured in the crash and transported to local hospitals for treatment. Nichols was not reported injured.Troopers also discovered an unharmed dog inside Montanas van during the investigation. The dog was safely secured and later reunited with Montanas family.The Indiana State Police were assisted at the scene by the Allen County Sheriffs Department and West Central Fire Department.The crash remains under investigation. ...read more read less
