A woman ended up in the hospital after she was attacked by an otter while swimming in Lake Tahoe. Lynette Bellin, a swim instructor who has been teaching and exercising in the waters of Lake Tahoe for 20 years, said the unexpected attack happened near Hidden Beach Sunday morning. “I just fel t something grab me by my leg and pull me under, and it was so powerful. I felt like it was a human,” Bellin said. “This otter just started coming after me, teeth and claws. My only thought was I got to get away from this, but it kept following me.” The otter eventually left her alone, but it left its mark. Bellin had to get 38 stitches and rabies shots.
