BATON ROUGE - Last week, Metro Councilman Anthonynbsp;Kenney Jr. announced a $2.38 million investment in the Monte Sano Bayou Drainage Project to reduce flood risk and improve drainage in Scotlandville, including the Park Vista neighborhood.Jeffrey Gray has been a resident in the area for more than 30 years. He says this project is a necessity."It's very inconvenient because the last time we had a good hard rain, my wife had to park down the street and walk to the house," Gray said.The project area extends between Scotland Avenue and Elm Grove Garden Avenuenbsp;and will include a detention pond, new drainage piping, and cleaning and improvements tonbsp;existing outfall ditches.ldquo;This is a major infrastructure investment for the Scotlandville community,rdquo; Councilmannbsp;Kenney said.nbsp;ldquo;Residents have experienced street flooding and drainage concerns for years.
