Final day of IACS adoption summer sidekicks adoption weekend INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Dozens of deserving cats and dogs are looking for their forever homes at Indianapolis Animal Care Services. While adoption fees typically cost $60, IACS is waiving all fees during the Summer Sidekicks adoptio n event, which runs Aug. 29-30. “Volunteering is a huge one. A lot of people like to come and spend quality time with the animals. There are also non-animal activities that are extremely helpful to the shelter. There’s a course on fostering, which, if you’re not ready for a full-time, permanent commitment to an animal, short-term fostering is an excellent way to help out the shelter,” said Kelly LaRoach, the administrator of policy and planning at Indianapolis Animal Care Services. “Of course, there’s donating, and then there’s just something as simple as sharing our social media post and getting the word out there.” You can meet the awesome animals from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day at Indianapolis Animal Care Services, located on East Raymond Street.  ...read more read less
