One person died and 13 others were injured in a mass shooting late Saturday in Washington Park, Chicago police said.Officers were trying to disperse a large crowd of people that had gathered on the eastern edge of the park in the 5400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when the mass shooting happen ed about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police.A 35-year-old man shot multiple times was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. A 47-year-old woman is in serious condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Three other woman — ages 21, 23 and 43 — are in fair condition at University of Chicago according to police. Six other victims — men and women ages 26 to 45 — were all in good condition at the University of Chicago, Stroger Hospital and St. Bernard Hospital, police said in a statement. Authorities did not know the condition of the three remaining victims — ages 23, 35 and 37 — nor the hospital they were taken to.No officers were injured.
