The annual Silicon Valley PRIDE Festival was in full swing in downtown San Jose Saturday. This is the 51st year for the two-day event, ending with the grand parade Sunday. Organizers say what’s different this year is that there’s not just one concert but hours of music and an entire festival in this plaza. The theme this year is flourish and bloom, celebrating strength, resilience, and a vibrant spirit. It’s also an important place to connect during a time when some feel under attack. DJs Al Tego and Noodles were expected to be performing. Attendees can shop at booths, talk to community groups, or just enjoy food and dance. This is designed to be a very family-friendly celebration. Many attendees said they felt it was important San Jose had its own pride festival in addition to what San Francisco offers.
