Winds stay very light, generally around 5 mph or less. Rain is not expected. SATURDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy and mild with temperatures falling into the middle to upper 60s. Winds remain light and gradually become more southeasterly. Most of the night stays completely dry, although some thunderstorms may be ongoing well north of central Indiana. SUNDAY The warming trend becomes much more noticeable. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs climbing into the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. Humidity also begins increasing as southwest winds develop around 5–10 mph. Despite the additional moisture, the atmosphere should remain capped enough to prevent meaningful thunderstorm development, leaving Sunday dry for most outdoor plans. SUNDAY NIGHT Mostly clear, warm and increasingly humid. Temperatures only fall into the lower 70s with south winds around 5 mph. Rain is not expected. MONDAY Summer heat takes firmer control to begin the workweek. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs reaching the lower 90s. Increasing humidity will make it feel hotter during the afternoon, particularly during prolonged outdoor activity. Southwest winds remain around 5–10 mph. Thunderstorm development looks unlikely despite the heat. MONDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy, warm and muggy with lows only falling into the middle 70s. South to southwest winds remain light around 5 mph. The warm overnight temperatures will provide relatively little relief from the daytime heat. TUESDAY Tuesday looks like one of the hottest days of the stretch. Mostly sunny skies combine with increasing humidity to push temperatures into the middle 90s. Heat index values could approach 100 degrees during the afternoon, making heat-related impacts increasingly important for anyone spending extended periods outdoors. Southwest winds stay around 5–10 mph. Rain chances remain very low. TUESDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy, warm and humid with lows remaining in the middle 70s. Southwest winds remain around 5 mph. Most locations remain dry. WEDNESDAY Hot and humid weather continues with mostly sunny skies and highs again reaching the middle 90s. Afternoon heat index values could once again approach 100 degrees. Southwest winds generally remain around 5–10 mph. An isolated shower or thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out later in the day, but most locations should remain dry. 7 DAY OUTLOOK Saturday provides one more seasonable and comfortable day before a significant warming trend develops. Temperatures climb toward 90 degrees Sunday before reaching the lower to middle 90s Monday through much of the middle of next week. Humidity increases at the same time, particularly Monday onward, with afternoon heat index values potentially approaching 100 degrees Tuesday through Thursday. Despite the increasing heat and moisture, most of the period remains dry. Strong high pressure aloft should suppress widespread thunderstorm development through at least Tuesday. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms become possible Wednesday through Friday as that ridge gradually weakens, but confidence remains low regarding exactly when or where storms develop. At this point, widespread rain or an organized severe-weather episode does not appear likely. The combination of several consecutive hot afternoons and very warm nights may eventually become more significant than any individual day’s temperature.
