When our elected officials go rogue, side with the opposition, display symptoms of Trump derangement syndrome, censure becomes the choice form of reprimand. Otherwise, silence is approval. Censure’s advantage comes along with its second- and third-order effects, among them are challenges to fundraising for the next election cycle and, hopefully, strategic withdrawal. Thus the scalawag doesn’t seek re-election. Curtis has proven to be an obstructionist who often nullifies the good works of our senior senator and constitutional scholar, Mike Lee. Curtis co-sponsored the Save America Act but won’t inhale. Curtis is a solid Let them eat cake RINO on par with Sens. McConnell, Collins and Murkowski.  The recent actions and inactions of Curtis warrant the response of censure: By halting advancement of the very popular Save America Act, Curtis has positioned himself as an ideological refusenik based on a nonsensical marital infidelity analogy. In rigid defense of the filibuster’s parliamentary technicalities, he clutches pearls and adheres to the letter of the Queensberry Rules, while the entrenched opposition hits below the belt and gouges the eyes.  Man of the people, just not the American people. Last December, with CNN’s Dana Bash, Curtis opined with a symptomatic display of Trump derangement syndrome, twisted compassion, condescension and a redefinition of the word immigrant. Curtis called on Americans to take personal responsibility to make Somali “immigrants feel more welcome in the country. … I think all of us need to wake up every morning, look in the mirror, and say what are we doing — what am I doing? — specifically today to make this country a better country, to make all our immigrants feel more welcome?”      Curtis is indifferent to the strain on American citizens, not just the monetary tax burden but also the negative effects of cultural erasure, crime, fraud, the strain on housing and healthcare. Generational international welfare tourist or non-assimilating, fraudulent opportunist is a more accurate moniker than immigrant in numerous cases. A Comparison of Overall Welfare Usage Data from the Center for Immigration Studies and the Migration Policy Institute indicates that in Minnesota, Somali households have a welfare dependency rate of approximately 81%, which is much higher than many other refugee cohorts. Crony favoritism: From Curtis’ X Page, “Utah employers tell me time and again how difficult it’s become to find enough workers to meet growing demands.” Breitbart reported, “Curtis wants to help businesses and investors by doubling the annual inflow of legalized migrants and even giving amnesty to some illegals.” The bill co-sponsored by mutiny inciter Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, would annually import a half-million replacement workers and their families. From a comment on Curtis’ X page. “Senator Curtis represents Uttar Pradesh more than Utah.” Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in India. Meanwhile, back at HR: Americans need not apply. Tech companies cite labor shortages in STEM fields and the need for “best and brightest” talent as primary reasons for hiring foreign workers via programs like the H-1B visa. However, critics and some research argue that a significant driver is cost reduction, as visa-dependent workers often have less job mobility and may accept lower wages or be employed in lower-skill IT support roles rather than elite RD positions. “US intensifies scrutiny on tech firms favoring foreign workers in hiring, focusing on PERM (a Green Card program) recruitment practices to ensure fair opportunities for US workers” was a sub-headline in the Indian English-language newspaper Hindustan Times on Aug. 15. Moreover, ADP Research sampled dozens of the country’s biggest metro areas, and focused on three different factors: wages, affordability and hiring rate among people aged 20-29.
