A South Jersey man is facing decades in prison after sexually assaulting a teenaged girl, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. On Dec. 10, 2023, Paulsboro resident Jason L. Bailey, 48, assaulted a girl between the ages of 13 and 16. Resources for victims of sexual assaul t are available through the National Sexual Violence Resources Center and the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673. When Bailey was arrested, police said he refused to give a DNA sample which is required by laws in cases like this. Then, in April of 2026, Bailey was convicted of charges including aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated criminal sexual assault and other related offenses. A judge on Aug. 28 sentenced Bailey to 30 years for the aggravated sexual assault charge and ordered that he must serve 85% of it before becoming eligible for parole.
