Mikie Sherrill signed a new law on Friday, Aug. 28 making permanent rules that allow some bars and restaurants to sell mixed drinks to-go in closed and sealed containers. The rules were first created during the COVID-19 pandemic and had been set to expire next week. Sherrill said she signed the measure into law because the rules worked during the pandemic, customers liked the option and businesses said to-go alcohol was a successful way to bring in additional revenue.
