8-28-26- Indianapolis Indians INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Indians are bringing professional wrestling to Victory Field on Saturday for WWE Night, combining a baseball game with special appearances, giveaways and wrestling-themed entertainment. WWE Superstar Akira Tozawa will thro w out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. He also will meet with fans for autographs and photos from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the center field plaza. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive an exclusive Rowdie WWE bobblehead. Professional wrestler Kevin Fertig will serve as the event’s guest emcee. Fertig also has been working with Indians mascot Rowdie on wrestling moves ahead of the event. “I’m going to be emceeing. We’re going to have a bunch of contests and just have a lot of fun. What we want, too, is for you guys to dress up as your favorite wrestler. I’m not going to lie, I’d love for you to dress up as Kevin Thorn — just a hint there.” Ryan Stevens, director of communications for the Indianapolis Indians, said the event is designed to bring together baseball and wrestling fans. “So, a championship-belt-worthy night. We’re going to combine that with WWE fun and all the wrestling that we could find. We know the fans are going to be fired up for that.” The weekend will feature several special events at Victory Field. Friday is Fireworks Night, Saturday is WWE Night and Sunday will feature an appearance by Bluey. Fans attending WWE Night are encouraged to arrive early for the Akira Tozawa meet-and-greet and limited-edition bobblehead giveaway. “Let’s just have a great night of wrestling and baseball.
