Zebras are back at the Fort Worth Zoo! The zoo dropped the news on social media Friday morning that Hercules and Pegasus, two juvenile male half-brothers, now call Fort Worth home. They arrived about a month ago from a private wildlife ranch in Texas. A spokesperson says they are now out in th eir habitat but do have access to their barn behind the scenes while they get acclimated to their new home. Zebras were a mainstay at the zoo for nearly a century until they left five years ago to make way for what is now the lion habitat in Predators of Africa and Asia. The first zebra arrived at the Fort Worth Zoo in 1923. The species remained until 2021. Hercules and Pegasus are now in town and ready to begin a new chapter in zoo history. ...read more read less
