An investigation determined a report of an active shooter at East Stroudsburg University, that happened on Wednesday, was nothing more than a hoax, officials said. In a statement, police said that after responding to a report of an active shooter at East Stroudsburg University, in East Stroudsbu rg, Monroe County, at about 7:47 p.m. on Wednesday, investigators determined no active shooter situation was ever taking place. Officials said a “multitude of state and municipal police departments” responded to the campus following the reported incident, but, an investigation found no active shooter situation had ever taken place and no shooter was ever present at the school.
