What to KnowA First Alert is in effect for the Philadelphia region, surrounding suburbs and parts of South Jersey until 10 p.m. Thursday due to severe storms that are bringing flash flooding and a strong winds. The storms caused flooding in parts of South Jersey Thursday afternoon and many neighborh
oods saw up to three inches of rain. The National Weather Service posted a flood watch in effect from Thursday at noon until 4 a.m. on Friday morning.Multiple flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for parts of South Jersey and the Philadelphia suburbs throughout the day. A Tornado Warning was also issued for Salem County, New Jersey, but was canceled shortly after.
