CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Eyes to the sky! There will be a partial lunar eclipse Thursday night! The night of Thursday, August 27 into the early hours of Friday, August 28, 96% of the Moon will enter Earth’s dark shadow, creating a deep partial eclipse. The penumbral eclipse will begin around 9:30 pm ET Thursday and will end at 1:51 am Friday. The greatest eclipse will occur Friday 12:12 am ET where 96.3% of the Moon’s disk is within Earth’s umbra.
