Police said a chase that started in Cleburne ended in a shooting at the Sam’s Club in Burleson on Monday evening. A Cleburne police officer was shot in the leg and is in stable condition as of 9:30 p.m. Cleburne police said they responded to a person brandishing a gun around 6:50 p.m. The perso n was in a vehicle, and police chased them through Alvarado and north on I-35W into Burleson. Police shot and killed the suspect at some point; it’s unclear if the person was ever armed or fired at police. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed two deputies were involved in the incident as well. Police added there is no threat to the community, but they want people to avoid the area so they can investigate. No further details were released.
