Just like Nelly said, it’s getting hot in here — so we want to take off all our clothes or something like that, and don’t even get me on that microwave of a car after it’s been frying all day. But some hot spots in SoFlo want to cool you down this summer. From the carillon on Miami Beach to Boca Ice in Boca Raton, relief is on the way! This summer heat is no joke! Katherine Lemes: “I have been dying. It’s been so hot.” But some spots in South Florida promise to help you beat the heat. Let’s start in Miami Beach. Katherine Lemes: “Carillon is one of the largest wellness facilities on the eastern seaboard. We also have a lot of cool ways to recharge this summer and feel your best.” Have you ever tried a negative 175-degree cryo chamber? Katherine Lemes: “If you’ve ever wanted to visit Mount Everest but haven’t had a chance to leave Miami, Carillon Miami Wellness has your back. So come enjoy the Cryo Chamber. It leaves you feeling recharged and balanced all summer long.” Guest: “I love it.” Katherine Lemes: “The igloo is included as part of our thermal hydrotherapy circuit. It has cold, ice water vapor, and it really helps you refresh after any treatment or workout. The Cryo Lean 360 is an advanced therapy that targets fat cells with cold and shock pulse technology and it helps smooth cellulite.” Just a quick lift and tighten. Katherine Lemes: “The Cryoline can target many parts of the body, and it just provides a cool way to feel confident all summer long.” And bring your sweater over to Boca Ice in Boca Raton. Jake Dinov: “We’re off of I-95, exit 50, right here. You know, there’s no east-to-west driving.” And with no snow-capped mountains in the area, indoor skiing seems like a good alternative. Jake Dinov: “Mount Boca, we call it.” And it’s fully equipped! Jake Dinov: “Skis, boots, and poles.” Alex Miranda: “Can people who have never skied before get the hang of it when they’re up there?” Jake Dinov: “It’s set up to help beginner skiers learn their pizza position with an instructor. One hour of training is as good as a day of ski school.” Well, my pizza was not fully baked, but bumper cars are always 10 out of 10. Jake Dinov: “But it’s not just bumping. It’s a whole interactive game where they have to shoot the other bumper car into their bullseye. And if they do…” Alex Miranda: “It’s brutal. It’s brutal.” You start spinning. Jake Dinov: “Can you hear the shrieks?” Alex Miranda: “What does that feel like?” Jake Dinov: “It’s fantastic.” Alex Miranda: “Spinning on ice is like a whole other level of spinning.” Jake Dinov: “Oh, they love it.” Tickets are $10 for the bumper cars at Boca Ice on select days, or you can rent them all for your group. Over at the Carillon, the Cryo Chamber and that cool facial are an additional charge. But the igloo comes included with your spa day.
