South Florida residents are remembering Hurricane Andrew as Monday marks its 34th anniversary.
The category 5 storm made landfall across South Miami-Dade in Aug. 1992 with winds as high as 165 miles per hour.
Most of the hurricane’s damage centered between Kendall and Key Largo.
Sixty fi
ve people were killed and nearly 200,000 homes and business were damaged or destroyed by Andrew.
