INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The July death of a 1-year-old boy on the city’s northwest side is now being investigated as a homicide. According to a release sent Monday by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, on July 11 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 b lock of North Delaware Street, near East 13th Street, on a report of a death investigation involving a toddler. That location is the Indy Flats, a high-rise apartment complex. When officers arrived, they found the 1-year-old unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting evidence. Police say the Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact manner and cause of death. Anyone with information about this incident should call Detective Sgt.
