A 41-year-old Allentown man has been arrested and charged, officials said, after he is alleged to have held a woman down during a sexual encounter and bit her genitals for several minutes, causing injuries that needed to be surgically repaired. On Monday, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced that Javier Santos-Rivera, 41, of Allentown, has been charged with involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, aggravated assault with an attempt to cause serious bodily injury or causes injury with extreme indifference, sexual assault and other offenses after an incident that allegedly occurred in March. According to Holihan’s office, officers responded to a hospital in Lehigh County on March 21, 2026, after a woman there reported a sexual assault that happened at a hotel on Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township. In that incident, the 19-year-old victim told police she had met with Santos-Rivera before the incident occurred and they went to dinner before returning to the hotel. At that time, she said, the pair engaged in consensual sex, however, at some point during the evening, Santos-Rivera began to bite the woman’s genitals. The woman began screaming in pain, she told investigators, but Santos-Rivera is alleged to have restrained her by her wrists and waist as “he continued for several minutes.” Following this incident, police said, the victim was unable to dress herself because of pain and swelling she had suffered and Santos-Rivera wrapped her in his coat, put her in his car and dropped her off at an area hospital. Law enforcement officials said the victim had to undergo surgery due to the severity of the injuries that she received during this incident.
