2 more teens charged with attacking man, woman with fireworks in Delaware

Two more teenagers have been charged with attacking a man and woman with fireworks in Wilmington, Delaware, the night before the 4th of July.
On July 3, 2026, around 10:30 p.m., a group of teens attacked a 31-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman with fireworks, including a Roman candle, on 9th an
d North Pine streets, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital where he remains in critical condition. The woman was also hospitalized and later released.
On July 21, a 13-year-old boy was arrested in connection to the attack and charged with attempted murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and conspiracy. He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $255,000 cash-only bail.
Investigators later identified two more suspects in the attack, another 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy.
On Aug. 19, the second 13-year-old boy was arrested along the 400 block of North Lombard Street while the 16-year-old boy was taken into custody at the New Castle County Courthouse, according to police.
Both teens are charged with attempted murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a crime and conspiracy.
The teens were both arraigned in the New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $265,000 cash-only bail.
