YORKTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — A family’s dog may have saved their house and their lives early Sunday morning. Yorktown Fire Department said in a social media post that crews were dispatched to the 2400 block of North 800 West for an outbuilding fire. Heavy smoke was visible more than two mil es out. The homeowners were woken up by their mini labradoodle, Elsa. They went outside to find their barn fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading toward their home. They called 911 immediately. Although the barn was a total loss, the fire department said they were able to save the house with only minor outside damage because of Elsa’s warning.
