Happy Monday, South Florida! It’s looking like a typical summer week in Florida with steam and storms in the forecast each day. Taking a closer look at today, we will see scattered showers and storms this afternoon with highs in the lower-90s. Rain chances won’t be quite as high as ye sterday with a little extra saharan dust in the area today. Looking ahead, rain chances will climb as we head later in the week as deep tropical moisture pools over Florida. This upcoming weekend could be even wetter as a tropical wave passes nearby and an upper low over the Gulf helps to funnel in even more moisture. TROPICAL UPDATE: We’re watching two areas in the Atlantic. Invest 95L in the central Atlantic has a medium 50% chance of becoming a depression as it moves northward into the far northern Atlantic this week. It could bring some rain to Newfoundland before dissipating. A strong tropical wave leaving Africa has a medium 60% chance of developing as it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic this week.
