SEYMOUR, Ind. (WRTV) Two adults and a 1-year-old boy died early Sunday after a man driving the wrong way on I-65 crashed into another car near Seymour, Indiana State Police say.Police said a caller reported the head-on crash ju
st after 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-65 in Jackson County, about one mile south of Seymour.Investigators determined that 51-year-old Theosco Middlebrooks of Louisville, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes in a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Police said Middlebrooks crashed head-on into a 2023 Ford Escape driven by 31-year-old Alyssa Osborn of Scottsburg.Middlebrooks and Osborn both died at the scene.Osborns 1-year-old son, Waylon, was critically injured and was taken to a hospital where he later died.Police said the child was properly restrained in a car seat in the rear passenger side of the vehicle.Investigators believe alcohol consumed by Middlebrooks "likely played a role in the crash." Toxicology results were pending as of Sunday evening.All southbound lanes of I-65 just south of Seymour were closed for about four hours for investigation and cleanup. The investigation is ongoing.
