A man was killed in an overnight officer-involved shooting in Upper Pottsgrove Township, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele. On Sunday morning, Steele announced that an investigation is underway after an Upper Pottsgrove Township police officer fatally shot a man whi le responding to a reported attempted break-in at a home on Snyder Road. According to the district attorney, at approximately 12:29 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a possible attempted break-in at the home. According to officials, police found a man behind the house when they arrived. Officials said an “encounter” followed, and police shot and killed the man. The district attorney’s office did not provide additional details about the “encounter” or say whether the man was armed.
