DENVER Half of young Americans, ages 18 to 34 years old, view Democratic Socialism positively, according to a new CNBC Generation Lab Poll.CNBC reports the poll received responses from 1,088 Americans earlier this month and 46%

People are waking up and realizing that the government does not support them, it supports the people with the most money.Skinner was referencing the recent increase in interest in Democratic Socialism in Colorado.In June, Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros won Colorados Congressional District One Democratic primary.Throughout the country, other Democratic socialists have secured democratic primary wins.While some establishment Democrats have expressed concerns over the DSA and the impact the ideologies of Democratic Socialists have on the party, Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib said Democrats and Democratic socialists have a lot in common.The differences actually matter far less to me because we share the same core values of cutting people's cost of living, saving them money on healthcare, and I think every Democrat is going to have different ways of getting to those same goals, Murib said.Murib said party divisions between progressive and more moderate members are not new and have coexisted for a long time within the party.Real Talk with Micah Smith airs Sundays on Denver7 at 5:30pm.
