BATON ROUGE mdash; The East Baton Rouge Parish Library is partnering with two-time Grammy Award-winning artist Laufey to release a special limited-edition library card.The card is launching ahead of Library Card Sign-Up Month in September and in celebration of A Very Laufey Day on Aug. 23, a worldw ide fan activation designed to inspire community, creativity and connection.Laufey is also the New York Times bestselling author of the children's book "Mei Mei The Bunny" and runs the global Laufey Book Club, which connects readers through shared monthly book selections and online monthly meetings.In 2025, the Laufey Book Club launched a pilot initiative of collaborative cards with five library systems in LA County, Boston, Phoenix, Fulton County and Reykjaviacute;k for A Very Laufey Day. Most of those library systems broke single-day sign-up records with the launch.The East Baton Rouge Parish Library card features a Laufey Book Club design alongside the Laufey Book Club crest and the East Baton Rouge Parish logo. It is one of nearly 50 Laufey Book Club collaborative public library cards launching around the world in celebration of A Very Laufey Day.The Main Library at Goodwood will host a Laufey Listening Party from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 23.Starting Aug. 23, the card will be available free at all 15 library locations to both new and existing adult and teen East Baton Rouge Parish Library cardholders.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
